The Imps announced yesterday that 22-year-old winger Harry Anderson has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

Anderson has made more than 120 appearances for The Imps since joining the club, having initially had two loan spells before joining permanently for an undisclosed fee in July 2017 from Peterborough United.

He has scored more than 20 goals during his time with City and has won the National League, Checkatrade Trophy and League Two titles with the club.

A few quotes from Danny Cowley: “He’s a young player who’s got an unbelievable work ethic and attitude to the game and attitude to learning.”

“He mastered the National League, he’s mastered League Two and now the challenge for him is to try to master League One.”

“He’s always a pleasure to coach because he wants to learn. He’s very resilient and very robust and we like those qualities in him.”

Reaction on 100% Imps:

azz_88: “So much potential. I think it was Cambridge away when we came back from 1-0 to win 2-1. I’m sure that game he grabbed it by the scruff of the neck and dragged the team forward, again and again, forcing his way through 3/4 players with sheer brute strength and hunger winning free kicks (including THAT Eardley free kick I think). If we can get that Anderson week in week out and improve his final decision making we will have one hell of a transfer profit coming our way in a year or two.”

The Imposter: “Excellent news. Reminds me of Michail Antonio in the way he uses his brute strength to get past defenders in his way.”

Ruskingtony: “Great news for me love his attitude and work rate. Does more defensive work than any other forward or midfielder in the team. In fact, often beats the midfielders at getting back in defence. On his day his strength and bullish attitude can test any defence. At 22 he can only get better under the Cowleys.”
