Cowley confirms big injury blow

Both Josh Vickers and James Wilson will again be out of contention for our weekend match against Crawley Town.

The pair both look to have long term injuries which could cause us problems as we look to stay in contention for a playoff spot.

The length of Wilson’s absence is still unknown with the Sheffield United loanee said to have had a scan on Tuesday or Wednesday on his ankle to determine the extent of the ligament damage he sustained against Cambridge last week.

An X-Ray had shown that he had not broken a bone, which is one positive, but Danny Cowley told Lincolnshirelive last weekend:

“It’s a bad one for James.”

With Vickers, the keeper has been out with an upper leg injury since late January, and the signing on loan of Ryan Allsop before the transfer deadline suggests his absence will also be long term.

On Tuesday night, the Bournemouth loanee made his second start in a row, keeping his second consecutive clean sheet versus Cheltenham in the solid home win. Imps fans everywhere will be hoping he can maintain his good start and help continue our great recent run of form.
