City strikers out to shine

Strike duo Marvin Robinson and Maheta Molango will be aiming to impress City boss Keith Alexander as the Imps? second-string prepare to face Scarborough reserves at Ashby Avenue this afternoon in a Pontins League Division One East clash (kick-off 2pm).

Robinson has fallen down the pecking order at Sincil Bank since the arrival of loanee Richard Logan, while Swiss forward Molango, who has only scored once in 14 outings during his time at the club, hasn?t started a game for City since the debacle at Torquay in late September.

But this home clash with the Seadogs ? which sees City looking to cement top spot in the division ? gives the pair an ideal chance to prove their worth to Alexander ahead of Saturday?s League Two clash with Macclesfield.

Alexander?s strenuous search for a new striker has been well documented, but recent moves for Jon Parkin and Drewe Broughton hit the buffers and he will have to make do with his lot until the transfer window re-opens in January.

So there couldn?t be a better time for either Robinson or Molango to give the City manager the perfect reminder and give him a selection headache at the weekend.

Line-up: Simon Rayner, Lee Beevers, Jeff Hughes, Luke Foster, Tom Kemp, Matthew Bloomer, Shane Clarke, Andy Toyne, Marvin Robinson, Maheta Molango, Leon Mettam.
