After a week in the South Chessman Chris Sutton is moving back up this way to progress deals with Darlington, Rotherham, Leeds, Rangers and Peterborough or should that be Luton?
Leeds star Davide Somma will do a full season with the remainder of the squad in an attempt to stake his claim. However with an acceptable bid from the Imps already on the table things are turning our way. Despite Davide not needing to compete with Beckford, Ken Bates plans to splash the cash and a three game ban will massively limit his chances.
Drewe Broughton and Sutton are currently splitting fivers or rather the difference over a one or two year deal for the 6 foot four man mountain. Drewe is also in the process of getting married, so a stressful summer pastime for a chap unkindly christened trapdoor by some unofficial website or other. If Mr Broughton wont play ball then Peterborough have two lads that might and Liam Hatch for one has the height and a better goal scoring pedigree. Liam has spent the last 21 matches on loan at Luton bagging 4 goals and been on Barry`s transfer list since Sky started to broadcast in HD. This, of course after a season at Darlington that saw 9 goals from 26 games that caught the eye of new recruit Clarke Keltie who laid half of them on.
Barry Fry feels it is time to get him and Scott Rendell off the books along with Torres. So Sutton is clearly at the counter of the Posh shop but just how many bargains will tempt him.
On the Rangers front Sutton may move for a second Gers player after completing the Steven Lennon transfer. Andrew Milne a very talented left footer in the Saunders mould who can play wide midfield, centre midfield and striker. At 5` 10′ and 11 st 6lb mixes skill with a ‘bossy central midfield nature to his game. he is blessed with good distribution skills largely from the left peg.
Purcell meanwhile is dealt with separately of course. Firstly because he is a winger and secondly we want the page turns and don`t want to sink to using the word exclusive in every title.
