05/02/11: Hereford United 0-1 Lincoln City (League Two) – 1 yellow card

TOTALS: Matches: 7 Yellow Cards: 18 Red Cards: 0

He received an average rating of 9.33 following the 1-0 defeat at home against Hartlepool United in the FA Cup in December. Some of the comments can be found below:

sedgleyimp: “He was his usual efficient, I’m in charge self. Not a very difficult match to referee, but you could see the players knew they had a good referee today as they knew he wouldn’t stand for any crap.

8/10.”

johnolbe: “10/10 He was excellent for the second time this year. I can’t think of any reason he would not get full marks and I’ve never awarded a full house before. We are so easy to ref though, we accept defeat so easily and nobody bar Jackson has the bottle to be cynical or commit any ****housery.”

Chimpimp: “I said on the Crewe rate the ref – it’s ridiculous Madley and Bourne are refereeing at the same level… because their level of refereeing is light-years apart.

Madley didn’t do anything remarkable or memorable but just understood what was going on around him. He understood the game.

Reading about Mr. Bourne he started refereeing at the age of 14 and is now 31.

So he will quite probably have never have played a game of adult football in his life. He certainly referees as though that is the case.

Anyway – more Madley and no more Bourne, please.

Madley 9.5.”
