Lincoln City OS:
“City pressed right from the off, Elliott Whitehouse charged down Drew Talbot’s attempted crossfield pass and set Jordan Williams free down the right, his low ball was cleared for a corner within two minutes. The ball into the box found Scott Wharton at the back post, it wasn’t cleared and it was almost forced home but an infringement was spotted deep inside the area.
Over 1,800 travelling supporters kept up the volume as another corner went the way of City just a couple of minutes later and again, it was the ball deep into the area causing panic but Wharton’s knockdown was lashed clear Andy Kellett with Michael Bostwick lurking.
City stayed in the ascendancy and the next attack down the right almost resulted in the opening goal, Neal Eardley linked with Whitehouse who looped the ball into the box, Matt Green met it powerfully but his header was expertly tipped round the post by Aaron Ramsdale. Wharton won the header again at the back post, Whitehouse then tried to help it into the goal but Ramsdale was in the right place to save again.”
Report: Chesterfield V The Imps
“The match had to be stopped in the 26th minute for an air ambulance to land on the pitch as medics tended to a stricken fan who required emergency treatment after being taken ill in the East Stand.
Just minutes after play resumed, the Spireites took the lead through Alex Whitmore’s header but the outcome of the match was ultimately decided by corner-kicks, with Michael Bostwick and then Scott Wharton meeting Samuel Habergham’s deliveries before Ollie Palmer sealed victory for the visitors.
Chesterfield showed character and desire throughout, starting the match with intensity and physicality.”

“Lincoln City gave their League Two play-off hopes a huge boost with a come-from-behind victory at struggling Chesterfield.
Scott Wharton, Michael Bostwick and substitute Ollie Palmer were on target after Alex Whitmore had given the Spireites the lead.
However, the match was overshadowed by a medical emergency which saw a home supporter taken ill during the first half.
The supporter had been receiving treatment in the stands for several minutes before the game was halted in the 26th minute to allow the air ambulance to land on the pitch.”
Lincoln City fight back to beat Chesterfield and climb into play-off places
“Promotion-hunting Lincoln came from behind to win 3-1 at the Proact, brute strength and aerial prowess accounting for two goals and sheer skill bringing the third.
Chesterfield’s defeat worsened their plight at the bottom of the table, six points now separating them from Football League safety.
The visitors had an early opportunity when a loose Talbot pass led to a Lincoln corner, from which an almighty scramble in the area ensued, the ball knocked off the line twice before referee David Webb awarded Town a free-kick.”
