Former Lincoln City utility man Peter Bore has been handed a Conference lifeline by Gateshead, with the Heed inviting the 25-year-old for a trial.

Bore joined Lincoln from Harrogate Town last season, but played just 19 times for the Imps before being released by boss David Holdsworth last month after a series of indifferent performances.

Gateshead boss Anth Smith will take a look at him in the next few days before making a decision whether to offer him a contract with the Tyneside club. He said: ‘Bore has been training with us this week. We will have a look at him in training and we may see him in action at Durham City in the Durham Challenge Cup on Thursday.’
