Views from PerthImp following today’s 2-0 defeat away at Bolton Wanderers in League One: “Terrific second half. Unfortunately, the ref set the tone in the first half and the Imps were fighting an uphill battle for the rest of the game. Having said that two individual errors cost us. That move at the end involving Sanders, Mandriou and Diamond was superb – could signal the way forward. Certainly, Sanders and Mandriou were an improvement on Garrick and Sorensen. Still, a young side who are still learning, and a young coach who is also still learning, about his players. In a way, a quite promising performance, just need a bit more composure on the ball in possession. Bolton will be there or thereabouts at the end but I feel a little more optimistic about the players going forward. We will beat a few teams this season that’s for sure. onward and upward.”

Stevie_imp: “Oh well 2-0 defeat to a team that will probably end up in promotion chase. Ref I feel has overly influenced the game, but we are where we are. We go again v Charlton at home. Thanks all for your company this afternoon.”

sedgleyimp: “Not a huge amount between the two teams.

We clearly went with a plan of keeping it tight and play on the counter and on the whole, it worked bar two individual errors which happen.

We could have come away with something on another day.

Here’s to next week.”

libertine: “Bolton are a good team and we’ve not played badly. Nice to see something of Mandroiu. A shame to lose, but we showed we aren’t a million miles off these teams as I feared pre-season. The only real negative is that I don’t think we need to be as direct as we are. It would be good to see us mix our style up a little bit.”
