City earned themselves a replay against League 2 outfit Plymouth Argyle thanks to a spirited performance on Saturday, and here’s how people scored it!

I suspect no one will be particularly surprised to see Sean Newton’s name at the top of this article, having put in an outstanding shift once again. Newton scored 8.85, which included a ten from Scotimp. I make that the highest mark of the season ahead of Fofana vs Wrexham (8.23), Fairhurst v Forest Green (8.24), and Andrew Boyce vs Dartford (8.6). As such, Bumbleimp stated that it was the ‘best performance by a Lincoln fullback in years’, while Tornado Imp branded the performance as ‘creative, solid and committed’. A good day at the office for the Liverpool-born full back then!

Second place was always going to be a fair way off Newton’s 8.85, but it’s little surprise that it was Tom Miller who took it with a score of 7.15. It’s almost getting boring talking about Miller in these articles, as he is in them every single week! Miller was not involved so much in an attacking sense, but was praised for his defensive work. Luke Imp said he was as ‘reliable’ as ever, while Snats noted that Miller was ‘excellent as usual’. Having picked up his fifth yellow, Miller will be a big miss for one game although Dan Gray is a good player to have in reserve!

No one massively stood out for third place, but it was Andrew Boyce who took the cake with another solid performance earning a mark of 6.85. Boyce has had a great season so far, putting in really solid performances across the board. I was not particularly sure he was worthy of the transfer speculation in the summer but to some extent he has proved me wrong! The word regularly used in the player ratings thread was ‘solid’.

None of the starters scored particularly poorly, but not for the first time in recent weeks it was Alan Power who came up a little short (5.54). The City captain has been well off his best through October and November and it would certainly be nice to see him back on form.

In terms of posters and kingearls was the most generous poster, the only one to average over 7 (7.08). Unusually the harshest was myself (6.17) so I must be the grumpy one this week! The average score was 6.48.
