An unusually efficient City performance saw the Imps canter into the first round proper of the FA Cup, with goals from Jake Sheridan and Jamie Taylor firmly erasing the memory of Saturday’s 0-0 draw. With slightly happier faces, let’s take a look at the player ratings for this week!

On Saturday, the average score was 4.91 with Adam Smith managing a quite disastrous 2.80, but there were no such low scores this week! City’s players managed an average of 7.01, with Tom Miller bagging the highest score of the season with a quite fantastic 8.80! Having allegedly been ‘out muscled and outpaced’ in the first game, he did rather more than simply keep his opponents in check on Tuesday night, effectively dominating Halifax’s forwards. I suspect Messrs. Gregory and Seddon woke up with a few bruises!

Jake Sheridan also enjoyed his best performance of the season with a score of 8.60, while Jamie Taylor’s busy performance earned him a score of 7.60. The only area of disappointment really was central midfield, with Mills (5.90) and Fofana (6.00) slightly off the pace. Even John Nutter took a decent score this week, with an excellent performance at full back leading to a score of 7.40. His previous highest score was 6.38 on the opening day of the season… I wonder if Gilbert’s arrival will spark him into a little more life?

The full ratings are as follows:

Paul Farman 7.20
Peter Bore (n/a) Paul Robson 6.00
Tom Miller 8.80
Andrew Boyce 7.40
John Nutter 7.40
Adam Smith 7.40
Mamadou Fofana 6.00
Gary Mills 5.90
Jake Sheridan 8.60
Alan Power 6.20
Jamie Taylor 7.60

Colin Larkin 6.20
Vadaine Oliver 6.40
