If you get thumped 4-1 at home by your local rivals then ratings probably aren’t going to be that high, and so it has proved this week! Only three posters gave City an average of higher than five, while Plumbob actually dropped below the four mark!

In terms of players, leading the way was Alan Power who has tended to play quite well in the derby games. The Irish midfielder scored an average of 6.07, far ahead of the next best player Jamie Taylor who was awarded a mark of 5.57. For what it’s worth, third place went to Jake Sheridan (5.36).

On the naughty step was Paul Farman, whose series of blunders saw him gain a mark of 2.71 – by far the lowest of the season for the usually reliable stopper. Captain Gary Mills fared little better and will be left rueing his clipped effort that came back off the crossbar. Mills scored a horrendous 2.93, meaning his overall average is a poor 5.54. Must do better captain!

The team average of 4.61 is the second worst of the season, with only Alfreton (4.49) coming in worse. The performance was even lower than the truly awful loss to Woking (4.62) which shows how strongly City fans felt about the club`s Boxing Day battering.

Full ratings are as follows:

P. Farman 2.71
D. Gray 5.00
A. Boyce 3.93
T. Miller 5.29
P. Gilbert 4.71
J. Sheridan 5.36
A. Power 6.07
G. Mills 2.93
N. Nicolau 4.36
V. Oliver 5.14
J. Taylor 5.57

S. Garner 4.64
A. Smith 3.79
C. Larkin 5.07
