The Imps pulled out a stunning performance to see off Braintree on Tuesday night, somehow recovering from the early dismissal of Gomez Dali to win 3-0, courtesy of a brace from Tony Diagne and a header from Andrew Boyce.

Despite Tony Diagne’s two stunning strikes the highest scorer this week was Jake Sheridan, who very impressively rated at 8.60, higher than Jamie Taylor’s 8.13 against Telford and comfortably the highest soccer of March. Posters remarked that he ‘worked his socks off’ and ‘fought for every ball’. CrazyTuba also noted that he created “many chances” an area of his game that is not always apparent. Well done Jake!

Second place went to Tony Diagne, whose two unbelievable strikes handed City the advantage. Berksimps noted that he got forward well, but Robbochops suggested he wasn’t always the best defensively hence his score of 8.20. Either way, he certainly made up for the mix up with Nat Brown on Saturday!

Third place this week is shared between Andrew Boyce and Jamie Taylor (7.80). The latter seems to be relishing getting back into that central role, while the former has improved considerably in recent weeks. Boyce was Robbochops’ man of the match for a performance in which he won every header and tackle, and berksimps suggest that it was his finest performance for the club!

At the other end of the spectrum, Gomez Dali scores 0.25 for his idiotic sending off (no CrazyTuba, I am not counting your rating of 10). One suspects we may not see much more of Dali in an Imps’ shirt. Of the other starters, the least impressive was Nat Brown who scored 6.60, with one poster questioning his aerial challenges. Still, 6.60 would be man of the match some weeks so it’s hard to complain too much!
