With Trevor Carson recalled to Sunderland and the loaned to Brentford and Joe Anyon at Morecambe the Imps were struggling for a keeper for Friday night.
It was Aston Villa who stepped into the breach by loaning the U20 England goalkeeper Elliot Parish.
The 20 year old was signed with 4 minutes to go before the transfer deadline and goes straight into the squad and almost certainly the team to face Rotherham tonight.
A higly rated youngster at Villa Park he has played regularly for the reserves and comes with a very good pedigree. The last couple of loan players from Villa have been top drawer and there is nothing to suggest that Parish will be anything different.
