Imps News

“After 55 years supporting the Imps, this has got to be the very best of times.”

|

Following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat away at Everton in the Third Round of The Emirates FA Cup, we asked our members what three things they learned from the match.

Here’s what Impalex said:

1. Everton Football Club’s ground is way behind the times and isn’t really fit for purpose as a Premier League ground. They’ve still got wooden floors and seats in the away end for goodness’ sake! If they really do want to become one of the very top sides in English football, they seriously need to build a new stadium.

2. Lincoln City can be well proud of their achievements in coming so close to gaining a very creditable draw at Goodison. We should now push on and win League Two. We should also try our damnedest to hang on to our prize assets.

3. As if we didn’t already know it, we have the best manager and the best chairman in the whole of English football; they actually went into the middle of Liverpool to join some of our fans in the pub! How many managers and/or chairmen would actually do that? After 55 years supporting the Imps, this has got to be the very best of times…

Thank you to Graham Burrell and Lincoln City Football Club for the photograph!
