Following the 3-0 win away at Accrington Stanley in League One on Saturday afternoon, I asked the Vital Lincoln City members what three things they learnt from the match.

Prior to the match, we published a quiz about last season’s meeting between Accrington Stanley and Lincoln City at the Wham Stadium which can be found HERE, and there is also another 15-question quiz at the bottom of this article! Have a go at both!

Here’s what syimp said:

1. That, despite our relatively solid defence, we have seriously missed Lewis Montsma in all areas of the pitch:-

a) his heading ability inside our own and the opponents’ penalty boxes.

b) his progressive and accurate passing from the back. Quickly linked up well with Regan Poole, too.

c) his close control in the opposition’s box and his eye for goal.

2. Stating the bleeding obvious, but we’ve been crying out for a midfielder with Erhahon’s assets. Getting a tackle in, passing accurately and intelligently. Harassing and getting in the face of opponents.

3. Bishop, with a little assistance from those around him and playing in his favoured position, is a helluva player.

Now we have hopefully abandoned Route One and touchline finding, a la egg-chasing, and have attained some level of fluidity in our passing, after weeks of exasperation. I think and hope we will see the real Teddy Bishop come back to the fore, after an extended hiatus.
