What 3 things do we need to do to beat Wycombe Wanderers in League Two tonight?
1. Consider playing a third centre back, especially in the second half. Nine of Wycombe’s last eleven goals have been scored in the second half, and seven of those in the last half hour.
2. Attack them. Wycombe have conceded 55 league goals (69 in all competitions) – only four teams in the last 20 years have been promoted automatically from League Two having conceded that many, and Wycombe still have four games to play. They have conceded 2 or more goals in a match 20 times this season compared to Lincoln’s 11 times.
Furthermore, they have injury problems in defence – according to our Who Are Ya? correspondent, their sixth-choice centre half has been recalled from a loan because they are short of defenders.
3. Start with Palmer instead of Rhead. Wycombe’s game plan will be based upon facing Rhead because he has started our last 13 games – Palmer is very different and also encourages us to be slightly less direct.
