What 3 Things do we need to do to beat Exeter City at Sincil Bank tomorrow afternoon?
1. Improve our generally poor first-half performance. The energy and basic will are there but the finishing is letting us down: going in at half-time level or even one down is pressure we don’t have to put on ourselves.
2. Score when we’re on top – we do this far too infrequently. The performance against Grimsby shows we can do it, the lift to the players and fans is immense and it builds confidence to keep going forward. Back to the ‘go again’ spirit of last season – that as much as anything got us promoted and on our day we can overrun anyone.
3. Play with freedom and extra creativity – no real threat of yellows leading to bans now, so get stuck in. Bostwick and Rhead showed admirable restraint and still remained effective the last couple of games and will be glad to be ‘off the leash’ I suspect!
